Lost and Found: Changing Course on My White Cliffs Hike Adventure

Image
I set off on my adventure, climbing the first cliff in Dover. Huffing and puffing 😆, I reached the top of one of the many cliffs, admiring the breathtaking views and feeling like a champion! As I walked further, I bumped into a park guide and asked for the best route from Dover to Folkestone. He looked at me like I’d asked for directions to Narnia!? and clearly suggested I head to Deal instead- which is in the opposite direction! He assured me the views would be spectacular…and let me tell you, the scenery was indeed stunning. I could fully immerse myself in the natural beauty of the area. Then came the real adventure. I decided to take a detour down to the beach at St Margaret's Bay and promptly got lost. But hey-ho, the bay was beautiful and rather peaceful, with a local restaurant/cafe called “Coastguard on the Bay,” a perfect place for a little top-up on coffee and a cheeky ice cream by the beach. Feeling mindful yet energized, I realized that I had no idea how to get back up t...

Bewl Water Bliss!

Image
I haven't slept in my car yet, unless you count a short nap in a twisted seated position at a parking spot. 😁 But that doesn't mean I'm not traveling in my Mazda -not yet converted-5. I've been enjoying a full-day hiking trips.  Recently, I explored Bewl Water , the largest open water in Kent, a lake, really.Together with my friend, we circled the lake, walking a trail of 13 miles. Well, it should be 13 miles.... unless you get lost, like we did. I’m not sure how it happened because the route is well-marked, but we suddenly found ourselves in the middle of the woods, ankle-deep in mud, walking and stumbling over branches. We managed to get back on track after about 20 minutes of wandering, but the state of our shoes was an another story....  But hey-ho,overall it felt like relaxing and peaceful walk, with almost no people around, beautiful views of open water, and a path through the forest. What more could you want from being in touch with nature? For me, though, th...

Buckle up and grab your snacks, because I’m about to take you on a journey of my travels. My trusty Mazda 5  is about to undergo the ultimate transformation into a cozy, road-ready camper. That’s right, my car is becoming a mini home on wheels. In my head, this camper conversion is already a done deal. Picture a snug little bed with the fluffiest bedding, twinkling fairy lights casting a warm glow, blackout window blinds for those lazy mornings, and a neat little dining area where I can sip my morning coffee while gazing at a scenic mountain view. Ah, perfection. Reality check: My Amazon basket is jam-packed with everything I need for this makeover. We're talking about a compact fold-out bed, luxurious bedding, charming string lights, “custom-fit “window blinds, and even a mini fold-out table for dining.  There’s just one hitch – I’m currently richer in dreams than in pounds 😆 But hey-ho:The most important thing is to have an idea, and the idea is already there plus I have a ...
