Beachy Head: Hiking the Seven Sisters Trail

Image
The Seven Sisters Trail is a breathtaking coastal path along the South Downs in England, known for its rolling chalk cliffs and stunning seascapes. One of the most famous and dramatic points along this trail is Beachy Head, the highest chalk sea cliff in Britain. Its stark beauty hides dark history, as Beachy Head has long been a place where people tragically take their own lives. The cliff's dark reputation as a site of suicides contrasts with the natural beauty that surrounds it, making it a place of both reflection and awe. There’s something incredibly fulfilling about starting your day with such an adventure, especially in a place as stunning as the Seven Sisters Trail. It’s a journey of physical endurance, but also one of mental clarity, as you find yourself surrounded by nothing but the raw beauty of nature.   I began my hike early in the morning, starting from the charming town of Eastbourne. It was around 7:45AM, with the sun just fully rise over the calm sea. ...

Stunning Jurassic Coast: Enjoying My first road trip with teenage kids

Image
The Jurassic Coast is truly a breathtaking place, where history and nature come together to create one of the most stunning coastal landscapes in the UK. This UNESCO World Heritage site stretches for 95 miles along the southern coast of England, revealing 185 million years of Earth's history.    For our adventure, we decided to park at Lulworth Cove, a picturesque spot that serves as an ideal starting point. The parking fee might seem steep at £20 for the day, but trust me, it's worth every penny. The convenience of being right next to such incredible scenery makes it a no-brainer.   We began our day with a hearty breakfast at a café right by the cove. Yes, the prices were a bit on the commercial side, but the view of the cove while sipping coffee was priceless-ABSOLUTELY!. If you’re on a budget or just prefer a quieter start, packing your own breakfast and setting up on the beach is a great alternative—especially if you're traveling with teenagers whose appetites...

Whether you're planning a scenic drive through Cornwall ,Jurassic Coast or Wales or heading somewhere completely different, transforming your car into a cosy, mobile haven can make the journey even more enjoyable. Here’s how you can do it without breaking the bank!   1. Image
Picture this: you're standing on top of the hill, the wind tousling your hair, a breathtaking panorama before you. Sounds dreamy, right? Welcome to the Malvern Hills—where history meets hilarity and every hiker's misstep is just another tale to tell. If you're look ing for an adv enture that blends stunning scenery with a dash of unexpected events , this is the place to be.   This time my journey began at the Clock Tower car park on North Malvern Road. Armed with sturdy hiking boots (a must, trust me),few layers of clothes I set off with the enthusiasm and curiosity .Weather forecast was as reliable as a weather-vane in a tornado, promising everything from drizzle to tropical sunshine. But hey-ho, with a mix of excitement and trepidation, I embarked on the literally “up and down, up and down” hike route.   As I ascended the first summit, the panorama was simply gorgeous. From the highest points, I could see the Severn Valley, the hills of Herefordshire, and e...

The beach was peaceful that morning, Studland Bay, a heaven for nature lovers, the perfect starting point for an unforgettable hike… No wait, go back—the adventure began in front of the hotel in West London, where I met a group of 14 strangers, but like me, crazy about hiking. So today, a group hike! After over 3hrs drive, I can honestly say now that my journey starts here, at the gorgeous Studland Bay… Our destination is Corfe Castle, a historic fortress nestled in the Purbeck Hills, but first, we are going for a rendezvous with the iconic Old Harry Rocks. These majestic chalk formations, standing guard at the eastern end of the Jurassic Coast, have been sculpted by the relentless forces of nature over millions of years. The white cliffs literally gleam in the morning light, what an amazing view!   As we set off from Studland Bay, the coa...

Lost and Found: Changing Course on My White Cliffs Hike Adventure

Image
I set off on my adventure, climbing the first cliff in Dover. Huffing and puffing 😆, I reached the top of one of the many cliffs, admiring the breathtaking views and feeling like a champion! As I walked further, I bumped into a park guide and asked for the best route from Dover to Folkestone. He looked at me like I’d asked for directions to Narnia!? and clearly suggested I head to Deal instead- which is in the opposite direction! He assured me the views would be spectacular…and let me tell you, the scenery was indeed stunning. I could fully immerse myself in the natural beauty of the area. Then came the real adventure. I decided to take a detour down to the beach at St Margaret's Bay and promptly got lost. But hey-ho, the bay was beautiful and rather peaceful, with a local restaurant/cafe called “Coastguard on the Bay,” a perfect place for a little top-up on coffee and a cheeky ice cream by the beach. Feeling mindful yet energized, I realized that I had no idea how to get back up t...

Bewl Water Bliss!

Image
I haven't slept in my car yet, unless you count a short nap in a twisted seated position at a parking spot. 😁 But that doesn't mean I'm not traveling in my Mazda -not yet converted-5. I've been enjoying a full-day hiking trips.  Recently, I explored Bewl Water , the largest open water in Kent, a lake, really.Together with my friend, we circled the lake, walking a trail of 13 miles. Well, it should be 13 miles.... unless you get lost, like we did. I’m not sure how it happened because the route is well-marked, but we suddenly found ourselves in the middle of the woods, ankle-deep in mud, walking and stumbling over branches. We managed to get back on track after about 20 minutes of wandering, but the state of our shoes was an another story....  But hey-ho,overall it felt like relaxing and peaceful walk, with almost no people around, beautiful views of open water, and a path through the forest. What more could you want from being in touch with nature? For me, though, th...

Just before the conversion, there must be an idea #Mazda 5 ,road trips car

Image
Buckle up and grab your snacks, because I’m about to take you on a journey of my travels. My trusty Mazda 5  is about to undergo the ultimate transformation into a cozy, road-ready camper. That’s right, my car is becoming a mini home on wheels. In my head, this camper conversion is already a done deal. Picture a snug little bed with the fluffiest bedding, twinkling fairy lights casting a warm glow, blackout window blinds for those lazy mornings, and a neat little dining area where I can sip my morning coffee while gazing at a scenic mountain view. Ah, perfection. Reality check: My Amazon basket is jam-packed with everything I need for this makeover. We're talking about a compact fold-out bed, luxurious bedding, charming string lights, “custom-fit “window blinds, and even a mini fold-out table for dining.  There’s just one hitch – I’m currently richer in dreams than in pounds 😆 But hey-ho:The most important thing is to have an idea, and the idea is already there plus I have a ...
